The Fairfield FFA Chapter is hosting a homemade ice cream contest at the Greater Jefferson County Fair June 30.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three, as chosen by the judges, and to the most unique flavor and people’s choice.
Entry is due by June 20 to Fairfield FFA member Celsey Horton at 919-2397 or FFA Adviser Courtney Burkhalter at firstname.lastname@example.org. Everyone is welcome to participate. Let Horton or Burkhalter know whether if the ice cream maker is hand crank or electric.
The entry fee is $10, payable at the day of the contest.
The day of the contest, participants must provide a list of ingredients, one copy of the recipe, and make the ice cream completely on the fairgrounds.
Once the ice cream is made, the public can sample every flavor for $1.
