Congregate meals

Congregate meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Community Center.

The menu for the coming week is:

Monday — Cook’s choice with dessert.

Tuesday — ham and potatoes gratin, green beans with onions, angel food cake, fresh strawberries, cornbread muffin.

Wednesday — spaghetti with meat sauce, Italian-blend vegetables, pear crisp, whole-wheat garlic breadstick.

Thursday — tuna salad on whole-wheat bread or roll, cottage cheese, marinated cucumbers and tomato salad, fresh fruit cup.

Friday — Swiss steak, homemade mashed potatoes, candied carrots, peaches and pineapple, oatmeal cookies.

Each meal also includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is noted, margarine and skim milk.

Reservations for meals are required one day in advance. Reservations can be made either at the community center or by calling 472-4403.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Community Center.
