Jefferson County Conservation Board director Dennis Lewiston announced today that the campground at Mac Coon Access is closed today because of flooding.
The campground will remain closed until further notice. Lewiston said flooding began Sunday, and after the conservation board moved campers out of the area, the water rose even further in the days since.
“It is definitely not suitable for camping,” Lewiston said.
The county’s other two campgrounds, at Jefferson County Park and Round Prairie, remain open.
