Katherine Walmsley’s second grade class at Maharishi School raised $125 for Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation by selling crafts earlier this month. Walmsley said her class was doing a unit on money, and wanted to combine it with a fundraiser. Since they love dogs and cats, they decided to raise money for dog and cat beds, food and toys. They made crafts such as beaded necklaces, bookmarks, bracelets, homemade cards and pet rocks, and sold them during lunch April 10. Parent Jay Greco said he loved that the students were raising money for an animal shelter. “This is the best $3 I’ve spent in a long time,” he said.
