Ottumwa man arrested, connected to drive-by shooting

An Ottumwa man has been charged in connection to the drive-by shooting that occurred Sunday, leaving one teenager injured.

The Ottumwa Police Department arrested Michael James Williams, 24, on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon (class C felony) and carrying weapons (aggravated misdemeanor).

This arrest is a result from the shooting incident that took place at 3:13 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Ellis Street in Ottumwa. In that incident, a 17-year-old male sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg and is recovering from his injuries.

Williams is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail with a bond of $12,000.
