The FHS boys’ soccer team went 1-1 last week with a 2-4 loss at Knoxville and a 4-1 conference road win that left the Trojan’s record at 5-4 overall and 3-1 in SEC play.
Senior Nicholas Frisbie scored both goals while junior Leone Gichure assisted on one of them.
The Trojans junior striker Gichure notched a pair of goals and an assist while teammate Juan Rojo had a goal and an assist. Sophomore Chance Swan had one assist with one score uncredited.
Fairfield hosts Iowa Mennonite tonight at Dexter and will travel to Mt. Pleasant Thursday for the first of two possible default SEC championship games. The Trojans and Panthers both own 3-1 records in the league with Fort Madison looming at 3-2 and an expected win later this week versus Keokuk would make them 4-2 against Fairfield when the two meet next Monday at Dexter. With wins Thursday and next Monday, FHS would secure another SEC title.
