Fairfield boys' golf ready for busy week

Senior Jackson Weaton led the way with three pars during his nine-hole score of 43. The Trojans have a big week with Invites at Oskaloosa on Tuesday and at the Preserve at Rathbun Lake Thursday before returning home Saturday for the Fairfield Invite.

The Trojan boys’ golf team enjoyed “cool, breezy temperatures” that “led to some high scores” Thursday afternoon at Mt. Pleasant where FHS joined the host Panthers and nearby small-school New London.

Senior Jackson Weaton led the way with three pars during his nine-hole score of 43. Brad Smithburg and Evan Haines each had one par as they shot 46 and 48, respectively, followed by Josh Brewington’s 52, Nate Smithburg’s 53 and Jeremy Crile’s 55.

Junior varsity

Drake Rippey was the best for the Trojans with a 49.
