Trojans celebrate soccer season but remain unsatisfied

The Fairfield boys’ soccer team celebrated it’s season with their annual banquet Monday evening where they also handed out their year-end awards.

MVP

Juan Rojo scored six goals and had two assists for a total of 14 points.

Rookie of the Year

Isaac Rosales scored three goals and assisted on four more for a total of 10 points.

JV Player of the Year

Gareth Welsh

110% Award

Eli Moore found the back of the net six times and added three assists for 15 total points.

Most Improved Player

Brody Angstead and Kyle Schubick

Honorable Mention

Leone Gichure had a team-high 24 points from nine goals and six assists while Dagan Burnett scored one goal.

Recap

The Trojans finished 10-7 overall and 7-1 in the Southeast Conference to claim the league title outright. Fairfield fell 2-1 to Oskaloosa in the first round of the Class 2A substate-6 bracket.
