The Fairfield seventh-grade football team hosted Ottumwa Tuesday with the “A” team winning 36-6 and the “B” team tying Evans middle school 6-6.
“A” stats
Talon Bates had 229 yards rushing with touchdown runs of 45 and 55 yards and he also converted two two-point attempts.
Craig Miller also had two touchdowns and one successful two-point conversion.
The other score came from an eight-yard pass by Quinton Maldonado to Cooper Polonsky.
Defensively, Broady Moore, Caden Allison and Carter Moore led the way
“B” stats
Brady McWhirter scored on a 37-yard catch from Sam Weaton, while Ben Sirdoreus and Weaton led the defense for the growing Trojans.
The eighth-grade Trojan “A” defeated Ottumwa 12-6 at Evans middle school while the “B” team tied 6-6 in their 20-play exhibition.
Alex Lippincott rushed 21 times for 132 yards while Tate Allen added a four-yard touchdown.
Allen also led the defense with six stops while Miles McEntee had five and two sacks and Isaac Harris and three and three sacks.
